OUR SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
Our 2020 Eia Hawaii Festival is not only about fantastic all-around family fun but also about having minimal impact on the environment:
Every utensil, plate or bottle available at the park is 100% compostable, biodegradable and plastic-free. We care about protecting and preserving the environment, as well as your wellbeing.
Our staff will ensure throughout the festival and proactively work to ensure that all discarded items and trash is recycled properly.
Throughout the festivities, we’ll be producing a lot of the energy on our own through solar panels and doing everything we can to preserve power consumption, such as using LED lights where appropriate.
All food stock left following the festival will be donated to local homeless and family shelters in the City and County of Honolulu.
Any public event will leave behind a carbon footprint – it’s hard to avoid. However, we will plant 1,000 indigenous trees throughout our beautiful state within the year to offset this carbon footprint by at least 200%.
CITY PARKS PROGRAM
We have reserved a special fund for the upkeep and rehabilitation of Honolulu City and County Parks.
